Field Studies is actually one of our oldest songs- only recently in the last few years did it become fully realized and fleshed out.

It's a commentary on the existential quandaries I had about 10 years ago- continuing the search for "the truth" or a grand meaning of life. It's about coming to the conclusion that the rabbit hole I was predisposed to spend my life spelunking, was a futile act and would only cause me great anguish in the long run.

This song is a message to a past self to stay grounded and appreciative of simple pleasures.
